IP Resources

Answers to the questions we hear most from hosting providers, ISPs, and cloud operators leasing IPv4 space with us. Don’t see yours? Ask us directly.

What’s the difference between leasing and buying IPv4 addresses?

Buying is a permanent ARIN or RIPE transfer of ownership. Leasing gives you the right to announce and use a block for a set term — month-to-month, 6 months, or 12 months — without the upfront capital cost of a purchase. Most of our clients lease because it’s faster to set up and easier to scale up or down.

Do I need my own ASN to lease from you?

No. If you already have an ASN, we’ll issue an LOA so you can announce the block yourself. If you don’t, check the box on the quote form and we’ll arrange the announcement on your behalf.

How fast can I actually get IP space?

Most leases go from signed agreement to a working LOA plus ROA and IRR route objects within one business day. There’s no marketplace queue to wait on.

Is the IP space clean?

We hold our space under our own ARIN (Org ID ML-1450) and RIPE (mobosoft-MNT) allocations — both independently checkable on public Whois. We’re happy to walk through reputation history for a specific block before you commit.

Can I use leased IPv4 for BYOIP on AWS, GCP, or Azure?

Yes. We can support the RPKI/ROA side of the setup so your cloud provider accepts the announcement. Most providers require a /24 minimum for BYOIP — check your provider’s specific requirement before you request a block size.

What block sizes and terms do you offer?

/24, /23, and /22 are available directly through our quote form, on month-to-month, 6-month, or 12-month terms. Need a /21 or larger, or a custom term? Request a quote and mention it — we’ll follow up directly.

What happens when my lease term ends?

Reach out before your term ends and we’ll work out whichever fits — renewing, extending, or winding the block down. We’ll always give you advance notice rather than cutting announcement off without warning.

Do you require RPKI on leased space?

We recommend it and can set up ROA/IRR objects as part of our Managed IP & Network Services, but it isn’t a hard requirement to lease from us. More networks are moving to RPKI-based route validation, so it’s worth having regardless.

Internet

What speeds can you provide?

Dedicated circuits from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps+. The right speed for your site depends on what’s available at that address, so every request is quoted individually.

Do you own the network?

No. Mobosoft doesn’t own or operate the fiber that delivers your circuit. We source it through vetted carrier partners and manage the process end to end — vetting providers, comparing quotes, and managing the install. The IP addressing and RPKI work is ours; the physical circuit is the carrier’s.

Why not go direct to a carrier?

Going direct means coordinating a carrier for the circuit and a separate provider for IP addressing. With us it’s one relationship for the circuit, the IP block, support, billing, and renewals.

Do I get IP addresses with the circuit?

Yes. Every circuit is bundled with a managed static IP block from our own IPv4 portfolio, with RPKI/ROA setup included.

Is there a price list?

No. Circuit pricing depends on location, bandwidth, and carrier availability, so every request gets its own quote rather than a published rate card.

Is this the right fit for a home or small office?

No — this isn’t consumer broadband. It’s built for enterprise and mid-market companies that need dedicated internet at an office, data center, or facility. More on dedicated internet →

Payments

What is a cash discount program?

You post one price at the counter and at the entrance, customers paying by card pay the posted card price, and cash customers get a discount. The terminal, the required signage, and the receipt wording are all part of the install.

Is this legal in California?

Yes. California passed a no-surcharge law in 1985, but it stopped being enforceable after the Ninth Circuit’s decision in Italian Colors. We set every program up to the disclosure rules that apply — the full explanation is on the payment processing page.

What do you need from me to start?

Two recent merchant statements. That’s all we need. No site visit, no application, and no commitment at that stage.

How do you work out what I’d save?

We read the effective rate off your own statements rather than estimating it, then show what a cash discount program keeps in the business over twelve months.

Do I need new equipment?

Yes. We install a new terminal along with the posted pricing signage and the receipt wording that goes with it.

Who is this built for?

San Diego auto shops and similar single-site businesses taking card payments at a counter. More on payment processing →
